What is Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)?

MLD (TM) is a powerful, yet gentle, hands-on technique, which can reduce or prevent fluid retention, enhance the removal of toxins from body tissues, accelerate the body's healing process, and support the immune system.

Gentle, repetitive movements awaken the lymphatic system, activating its circulation and enhancing its ability to cleanse your body.

If lymph circulation stagnates, toxins accumulate and compromise cellular functioning, which opens the way to physical ailments.

What are the Benefits of MLD?

MLD is especially beneficial both prior to and following surgery, as well as healing from injuries. It encourages the production of collagen which will give you a fresh, radiant appearance.

MLD is indicated for:

  • Eliminating toxins
  • Supporting weight loss programs
  • Cellulite
  • Anxiety and stress relief
  • Headaches
  • Reducing risk of infection pre-surgery
  • Post-cosmetic surgery swelling and pain
  • Dark circles and puffiness under eyes
  • Constipation
  • Whiplash
  • Trauma
  • Bruising
  • Chronic Allergies
  • Sprains/Strains
  • Pain Relief
  • Scarring
  • Tinnitis
  • Sinusitis
  • Acne
  • Heavy legs/varicosities
  • Fluid retention

When should I avoid MLD?

Manual Lymphatic Drainage has four absolute contraindications:

  • Heart-related edema
  • Recent thrombosis/blood clots
  • Inflammation, allergies or illness within the first 48 hours
  • Active Malignancies/cancers
